White Spotted Assassin Bug (Platymeris biguttata) also known as Two Spotted/White Spotted assassin bugs.

They are mainly distributed in Africa, and its body length when reaching adulthood is 2 inches or 50mm. The surface of the adult's body is black, and the legs have a yellow luster, usually with circular markings.

They can be ferocious eaters, literally jumping on there prey. They will eat just about anything that moves and are not afraid to take on prey as big as them. When kept well fed they will not prey on one another, meaning they can be kept in groups. They like to eat crickets, roaches, locusts, etc.

Habitat environment: I keep them on a sand substrate, around 40mm deep. This is where they will lay their eggs, I find sand very easy to sieve through to find their eggs which are black with a small white dot making them easy to identify.

They like to hide under bark and they will also hang from it to moult so provide plenty. I keep one corner wet for humidity and to encourage egg laying.

Height of their enclosure isn't essential as I find they spend most of their time close to the ground hiding under bark. I keep the humidity at about 50% and the temperature around 25°, this works great and achieves healthy egg laying.

- Caution - These insects can sting and squirt a noxious fluid from the rostrum (beak-like mouthparts), painful on contact with eyes. Not for children, but they make an interesting exhibit.

This listing is for 3 nymphs measuring at around 10-15mm depending on their growth stage. They will go under several moults before reaching adulthood.
